Lyrica and other stuff...

I started taking Lyrica last week for my Fibro. The dr. had given me a coupon for a free one-week trial and then he also gave me a prescription that I could go fill when my trial was up (and I had to tell him how to spell the word coupon. It's kind of scary to have to help a specialist spell a simple word, lol...). He also said that a lot of people start noticing a difference with their pain within a week. Well, I haven't noticed a difference with that but I know that it takes longer for some people. I have noticed that it makes me super tired though. Even more than usual. I can't stand that. I was told to take one in the morning and one at night. But, last night I tried taking them both instead of taking one yesterday morning. When I got up early this morning to babysit, I was really dizzy and could hardly keep my eyes open. Now, the dizzyness from it had gotten a little better the past couple of days - but apparently not when I take 2 doses at once. And yes - I called and talked with a pharmacist to make sure it would be ok to take 2 doses at once. Anyway, I also found out that the reason people gain weight on Lyrica is because "it works partly by decreasing central nervous system stimulation which results in lowering resting metabolic rate". So, now I'm trying to decide if pain management is worth the price of becomming a tired fat blob. I don't want to be more unhappy with my appearance than I already am. I know that sounds vain. I'm sure some people wouldn't understand my predicament...

Well, I'm amazed with my expensive shoes. My foot was back to normal in no time at all. Guess I won't be buying shoes at Walmart anymore!

Oh, a sort of funny thing happened today that my hubby thought I should blog about. We were driving over to my parents' house to drop off some of my moms food containers. John was driving and we had the windows rolled down. Well, some gigantic mosquito flew in and was on the dash in front of me. First I was using one of the containers as a shield incase it flew at my head. Then, when it got closer to the window I started using the container to try to coax it out - but I somehow ended up flinging my moms container out the window. John was like, "Did you just throw that out the window???" And I was like, "ummm...yeah". I think it took a second for what I just did to sink in. Meanwhile, the mosquito was sitting there thinking "what a moron". So then I grabbed a dvd to do the same thing, and I think that made John nervous. But anyway, I got the mosquito out. John turned around and we went back and got my moms container. Luckily it was plastic.
