Roseola?

Well, after days of Mikayla's temp going up and down (it got up to 104.8 at one point) - it is finally gone. But, now she has a rash on her chest and tummy - and a little bit on her face. We are thinking that it is Roseola - I'm going to call the dr. in the morning just to make sure. She is still not acting like herself. She is pretty fussy and grumpy and just wants to be held.

Dakota is in the process of being screened for stuff at school. There are a bunch of different tests they are doing but they want to spread it out - they said they should be done by Christmas. They are doing speech/language, occupational therapy, and a bunch of others. They had Dakota's teacher fill out a paper about him. Here are some of her remarks:

"Dakota has difficulty using scissors. His coloring skills are at the scribbling stage. He is not able to copy his name. He uses very little pressure when writing or coloring. He has difficulty catching a bean bag. " - (They are concerned with his fine motor skills)

"Dakota has noticeable speech errors in his conversational speech. He appears to have difficulty understanding what is said to him, especially directions"

"Dakota appears to have difficulty following directions and problem solving in the classroom. He does not use his peers to gain information as to what to do, for example if everyone is sitting on the carpet he may not realize that he needs to be sitting down also"

"Dakota needs reminders and assistance when picking up during clean up time"

"Dakota is starting to participate in class and interact with his peers. He moves very slowly to do a task, usually waiting for an adult to assist him. He sometimes over reacts to a situation"



I am really curious what the evaluations will show. I am afraid that at some point Dakota will have to be in special education classes. I guess we will see...
